Add Lineup to Motion Dock
- Click Edit layout in Motion Dock’s top bar.
- Click an empty area of the layout and choose Lineup from the module picker.
- Click Exit layout mode to use the tool.
If Lineup is already in this layout, use its existing slot.
Reverse three layers
- Open a practice composition with at least three layers.
- Select three unlocked layers in the timeline. Note their order from top to bottom, for example
A,B,C. - Move the pointer into Lineup. In a slot with a preview, its caption changes to Stack order and shows the unlocked layer count.
- Hover over Reverse to preview the change, then click it.
The selected layers should now read C, B, A from top to bottom. With three unlocked layers, the success message is Reversed 3 layers. Use Edit > Undo in After Effects to restore their original order.
A usable selection replaces the dashed example with solid bars. This capture illustrates five selected layers; your count follows your unlocked selection.
A short slot can hide the diagram. Its action buttons still work. Enlarge the slot in layout mode if you want the preview.
If Lineup says No active composition, activate the composition first. Select layers to line up means nothing is selected. Select two or more unlocked layers means too few selected layers can move. Unlock another selected layer or select more layers, then try again.
