1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

• Email address: when you sign up for tool update notifications or the Davey Design newsletter.
• Purchase information: when you buy a premium tool, your payment is processed by our payment provider (Polar.sh). We receive your email address and proof of purchase, but we do not receive or store your full payment card details.
• Communications: if you contact us via email, we retain the correspondence to respond and improve our services.

Information collected automatically

• Download counts: we record anonymous, aggregate download counts through Cloudflare Analytics Engine. This tracks which tool was downloaded, not who downloaded it. No IP addresses or device fingerprints are stored.
• Standard server logs: Cloudflare, our hosting provider, may temporarily log IP addresses and request metadata as part of standard web infrastructure (DDoS protection, performance, etc.). We do not access or analyze these logs for tracking purposes.

What we don't collect

We do not use cookies for tracking. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any third-party advertising trackers. We do not collect device fingerprints or build user profiles.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Deliver tool update emails you signed up for
• Send the Davey Design newsletter (only if you opted in)
• Fulfill purchases and deliver license access for premium tools
• Respond to support requests and inquiries
• Understand aggregate download trends to prioritize development

3. Third-Party Services

We rely on a small number of third-party services to operate. Each has their own privacy policy:

• Cloudflare: website hosting, CDN, and anonymous analytics infrastructure.
• Polar.sh: payment processing for premium tool purchases.
• subscribe.davey.design: email list management for newsletters and tool update notifications.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for marketing purposes.

4. Data Retention

We retain your email address on our mailing list until you unsubscribe. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. Purchase records are retained as long as needed for license fulfillment and legal/accounting requirements.

5. Your Rights

Regardless of where you live, you can:

• Unsubscribe from any email list at any time using the link in every email.
• Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
• Request deletion of your personal data.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.

If you are in the European Economic Area, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

6. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

7. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal data, including using HTTPS for all connections and relying on established, security-focused infrastructure providers. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top. For significant changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you (e.g., via email or a prominent notice on the site).
