Yoink saves a frame, GIF or MP4 from After Effects so you can share a shot without setting up an export each time. It is a free micro tool in Motion Dock.
Choose PNG, GIF or MP4, then click the hand button, Yoink.
PNG grabs the frame at the playhead. GIF and MP4 grab the composition's work area.
Save, then share
Every completed grab is saved to disk. By default, Yoink also copies it to the clipboard for pasting into another app. The six most recent completed grabs appear in the tray. Click one to reveal its file, Alt-click to copy it again, or drag it into an app that accepts files.
The default destination is yoinks beside your project. An unsaved project uses Desktop/yoinks. Grab your first frame to see the result.
Capture the part you need
Alt-click Yoink to crop to selected layers. The selection defines the crop. Other visible content inside that rectangle remains in the picture.
For animation, set the work area and choose an export format. GIF has its own size, frame rate and color options. MP4 uses H.264 and may hand the render to Adobe Media Encoder when After Effects cannot encode it directly.
PNG and GIF grabs are opaque. Transparent areas are filled with the composition’s background color.
