Choose which comps to update

Select comps in the Project panel to limit Re-path to their queued items. If no comps are selected there, Re-path updates every item with Queued status. The comp open in the viewer does not limit Re-path.

It skips completed, failed, unqueued, and other non-Queued items. Selecting rows in the Render Queue does not define its scope.

Apply a new destination

  1. Open Dispatch’s sliders button, or right-click Dispatch, to open Presets.
  2. Click the preset you want inside the editor. This selects it without dispatching.
  3. Edit Folder and File if needed. Press Enter or leave the field to save the edit.
  4. Check the Project panel selection, then click Re-path queued at the bottom of the editor.

A successful update briefly reads N re-pathed. The count is queue items updated, even if an item has more than one output module.

The small number beside the action counts all Queued items. It does not narrow to the selected comps.

Each eligible item’s output modules get the active preset’s folder and file pattern. Existing formats, extensions, frame placeholders, templates, and render ranges stay as they are. Re-path can update items added through After Effects itself as well as Dispatch.

The same version rules apply. Re-path can advance a version when other output names already occupy the destination. It changes output destinations and creates missing folders; it does not move or rename files already on disk.

Use Edit > Undo in After Effects to reverse the path changes. Created folders remain on disk.

When nothing changes

The selected comps have nothing queued means no Queued item belongs to the Project panel’s selected comps. Select the intended comps, or clear that selection to include the whole queue.

Nothing queued to re-path means no item has Queued status. Enable the intended items in After Effects’ Render Queue first.

If a folder error occurs partway through, earlier outputs may already have changed. Inspect the queue, undo the operation if needed, and correct the destination before retrying.
