Ditto copies or links effects and properties across layers so you can stop repeating the same edit on each one. It is a free micro tool in Motion Dock.

The source chip names the layer Ditto reads from. The line above it shows what you have picked and how many other layers are selected.

With a source and destinations selected in one composition, click Copy for a one-time edit. Click Link when future edits should reach the whole group.

Copy once or keep editing together

Copy reads the source at the playhead and writes those values to the other selected layers. Hold Shift to copy its keyframes too. The source stays as it was.

Link creates a null with shared controls and connects the selected properties to it with expressions. This includes the source layer. Edit or animate the null’s controls to change the group together.

Use Ditto for matching glows, repeated color adjustments, shared transform animation, or a row of layers with a stepped rotation. All work stays in the active composition.

Choose only what should match

Open the source chip to choose whole effects, individual effect parameters, transform properties, or the source's applied Layer Styles.

After Effects property selections on the source provide the initial picks. With no properties selected, Ditto starts with the first effect.

For a first result, copy a Glow to another layer. When you need a shared setup, link the layers to a controller. Each Copy, Link, or Unlink action is one After Effects undo step.
