Ditto refreshes the selection when the panel regains focus, when the pointer enters it, when the picker opens, and before an action. Buttons are temporarily disabled while an action runs.
Modifier keys
Alt is Option on macOS. Cmd applies on macOS; Ctrl applies on Windows.

Holding a modifier changes the action’s icon and label before the click. At small sizes, the label can be hidden while the icon still changes.
Property picker

After Effects property selections on the source become the initial checks. Otherwise, the first effect is picked, or nothing if there is no effect. Copying explains effect matching and destination changes. Staggering explains the step calculation.
Slot layouts
Ditto offers half and full widths, with a declared minimum of 240 × 160 pixels. More space reveals hints and linked group rows. The action tiles can sit side by side or stack vertically according to the available shape.
A compact half-width slot keeps the source and both actions close together. If there is no room for linked groups, open the picker to reach them.
In a short wide slot, source information sits beside the two actions. At very small sizes, hints, group rows, the chip, or labels can disappear. Right-click an action to reach the picker.
Results
Successful actions briefly show a count on the button and a message beside the panel. Copy counts destination layers; Link counts linked layers including the source; Unlink counts baked properties. Larger slots also animate quote marks over the destination count.
Copy messages can include added effects or styles, missing matches, properties that are not scriptable, properties still linked by Ditto, and locked layers skipped. Link messages include a skipped count and the first reason. No links yet is the empty group list. Refusal badges and their fixes are in Troubleshooting.
