Replace a word
- Select the layers or Project panel items to rename.
- Leave the pattern as
{name}to keep the rest of each name. - Click the two-arrow button whose tooltip is Find and replace.
- Enter
Boxin Find andCardin Replace. - Review the preview and click Apply.
Plain text is the default. Every occurrence is replaced, including text inside longer words. Matching ignores case unless you enable Match case with the Aa button.
Leave Replace empty to remove matches. Clear Find to stop replacing text.
Rearrange parts with regex
Enable the regex button beside Find. Enter (\w+)_(\d+) in Find and $2-$1 in Replace.
A name such as logo_12 becomes 12-logo. Parentheses capture the parts. $1 inserts the first group, $2 the second.
Enter the regex itself, without surrounding / characters or flags. Renamer replaces all matches and uses Match case to control case sensitivity. In plain-text mode, replacement text such as $1 is inserted literally.
An invalid expression outlines Find as an error. Apply reports Fix regex with Invalid regex and changes nothing. Correct the expression or turn regex off.
Combine replacement with a pattern
Find and replace changes the value of {name} first. Case conversion then affects text tokens, and the pattern assembles the result. For example, find Box, replace with Card, and use {name} {#} to preview Card A 1, Card B 2, and Circle 3.
Switching back to the pattern leaves replacement active. A dot on the two-arrow button means the hidden Find has text, or the hidden pattern differs from {name}. To stop a replacement, return to Find and replace and clear Find. To stop adding a prefix or suffix while replacing, return to the pattern and set it to {name}.
Find and replace only changes {name}. It does not search text you typed directly into the pattern, or the values of {comp}, {source}, and {parent}.
