Add Switched to Motion Dock
- Click Edit layout in Motion Dock’s top bar.
- Click an empty area and choose Switched from the module picker.
- Click Exit layout mode.
If Switched is already in this layout, use its existing slot.
Turn on motion blur
- Open a practice composition with two unlocked solid layers.
- Select both layers in the timeline. Start with their motion blur switches off.
- Choose Selected in Switched. In a narrow slot, this is the pointer icon at the top.
- Click Motion blur.
Both layers should now have motion blur enabled. Switched also enables the comp’s motion blur switch, and the tile’s dot becomes filled. The result message reports the changed layers and any comp switch it enabled. Visible blur still depends on motion in the composition.
If you see Select layers first, select the timeline layers again. For No active composition, bring the composition forward before retrying. Troubleshooting covers other messages.
Use Edit > Undo in After Effects to restore both layers and the comp switch in one step. Move the pointer back into Switched to refresh its state.
