|, In point, and Stay. Set Speed to18, Jitter to0%, and Blink to1.00s. - Click Apply, then close the options with the X.
- Preview the composition from the text layer’s in point.
The text should appear one character at a time, finishing in about 0.6 seconds. The cursor stays visible while typing, then blinks. The words remain visible for the rest of the layer.
Right-clicking the keyboard button reaches the same full options from any slot size. After applying, live appears in this panel when the selected layer has Clickety.
Clickety adds a Clickety text animator and a Clickety effect to the selected layer. Edit > Undo in After Effects reverses the apply in one step.
Try a change
Keep the layer selected. Double-click the speed value, enter 10, and press Enter. Preview again. The same text now takes about 1.1 seconds to arrive. You do not need to click Apply again to adjust a layer that already has Clickety.
If you see No comp, activate a composition. No text means you need to select a text layer in the Timeline. Unlock the layer if you see Locked. In a narrow slot, right-click the keyboard button to reach the same options.
