In Motion Dock, enter Edit layout, select Clickety, and click Module settings in the top bar. You can also double-click its slot in layout mode or right-click it and choose Module settings.
Settings save as you change them and carry across projects. They affect the next apply. After changing one, select the affected text layers and click Apply again to use it on those layers.
Right-clicking Apply opens the animation controls. These three settings live in Module settings instead.
| Setting | Default | Range | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sound marks | Off | On or off | Adds layer markers with comment key at each reveal unit’s arrival and, when used, departure. Characters are units in Type, Fade, and Delete; whole words or lines are units in Words or Lines. Adds markers only, with no audio. |
| Fade overlap (characters) | 3 | 1 to 10 | How many characters overlap during Fade. |
| Line slide (px) | 24 | 0 to 400 | How far each line rises in Lines. Set 0 for a fade without movement. |
Sound marker limits
Clickety rebuilds markers when you apply, and refreshes existing sound marks when you adjust a marked layer through its animation controls. Editing the words or trimming the layer directly in After Effects does not regenerate them. Apply again afterward.
Apply and removal clear every layer marker whose comment is exactly key, including markers you made yourself. Give your own markers a different comment. A keystroke that lands exactly on one of your markers keeps your marker. Each rebuild adds at most 2,000 markers. Keystrokes more than half a frame before the in point, or after the out point, are skipped.
