Odo makes counters for money, time, and stats, with no expressions to write. Choose two values, a format, and an ease, then create a counter or apply it to your own text layer. It is a free micro tool in Motion Dock.
The big number previews the result. Click it or move the pointer into Odo to play a short preview of the count.
Start with From and To. The defaults count from 0 to 1,000 over two seconds with Settle easing.
Numbers that fit the shot
Use a prefix for currency, a suffix for units, and decimal places for precision. Time styles turn seconds into a clock display. Compact numbers turn large totals into labels such as 1.3M.
The preview shows the format before you apply it. Open ⋯ for every option, including custom text, decimal marks, positive signs, and leading zeros.
For a first result, create a counter in an open comp.
Keep control in After Effects
A normal counter is a text layer with an Odo effect and a generated Source Text expression. Animate its Value keys to change the timing. Select the counter again to edit it live in Odo.
For an odometer look, make the digits roll. This builds a precomp with separate digit layers. Both looks use editable count keyframes.
