Liquid Types
The row of drops picks the type. Switching type swaps everything about the liquid except its name: how it moves, its colors and its finish.
Click the two color swatches to change the body color and the splash color, the lighter tint fast-moving droplets pick up.
| Type | Feel |
|---|---|
| Water | Splashy and quick |
| Honey | Slow golden ribbons |
| Slime | Holds together, clings |
| Paint | Creamy, loves to marble |
| Milk | Soft and silky |
| Mercury | Beads up and rolls |
| Lava | Heavy glowing sludge |
| Oil | Light, floats on water |
How It Moves
The feel pad sets two things at once. Left to right runs from thin to thick. Bottom to top runs from splashy to gloopy, where droplets pull each other into blobs and strings. The other liquid types sit on the pad as dots for reference.
- Sticky is how much it clings to walls and props instead of sliding off.
- Bounce is how much it springs off surfaces when it lands.
- Weight is how heavy it is. Its label reads Floats or Sinks at either end. When two liquids stay apart, the lighter one floats to the top.
How It Looks
The Look section sets the finish. Glossy, Matte, Candy and Neon are starting points. Fine-tune them with:
- Soft: how much the droplets melt together into one smooth body. Low looks beady.
- Tight: where the edge sits. Higher is thinner and tighter, lower is fatter and blobbier.
- Gloss: the shiny highlight along the top edges.
- Glow: a soft halo of the liquid’s color.
- Shadow: a drop shadow under it.
Gloss, glow and shadow stay adjustable after the bake, on the baked layer’s Essential Properties.
When Liquids Meet
With two or more liquids in a scene, When it meets lists the others. Pick one of three for each pair.
- Blend: they flow into one body and their colors swirl into each other. The Blend knob sets how fast touching colors run together for the whole scene. Low keeps crisp marble swirls, high mixes them into one color.
- Apart: like oil and water. They never mix, bead up against each other with a seam between them, and the lighter one floats to the top.
- Fizz: they react where they touch, foaming into bubbles that rise and pop until both are used up.
