Edit an existing behavior
Select a property with Springy, then move the pointer into Springy or bring its panel into focus. The tool rereads the selection and its control values. A ring marks each behavior it finds. Highlighted controls edit the chosen behavior on the selected layers.
Drag a numeric control and release to write the change. While dragging, the panel previews the draft value. The composition updates on release. A completed adjustment is one undo step.
Controls are shared by behavior and layer. Changing Overshoot on a selected Position property also changes any other property using Overshoot on that layer. If several selected layers have different values, Springy displays the first matching property’s values. A committed change writes that control to all selected layers using the chosen behavior.
When the selection has no matching live behavior, controls set the saved values for the next application. They do not change the comp yet.
Tune from any slot size
Right-click a behavior tile to open its tune popover. It gives you the preview, every control, and the action buttons even when the slot is too small to show them.
The live label means the chosen behavior is already present in the selection. Press Escape or click outside to close the popover.
To switch a property’s behavior, choose the new one and click Apply. That replaces its current Springy expression. Unused Springy control groups are removed. Reapplying a behavior reuses its existing group.
Remove the extra motion
Select the affected properties, or select whole layers to include all their Springy properties. Click Remove. This clears Springy’s expressions and removes control groups no longer in use. Existing keyframes remain.
Bake and Remove appear together when every inspected target uses the chosen behavior. With a mixed selection, select the exact Springy properties first. You can also hold Alt/Option and click any behavior tile or Apply to remove Springy from the selection. This removes selected Springy behaviors regardless of which tile you click.
No Springy behavior to remove means the selection has no recognized Springy expression. Locked layers are skipped. A successful removal count can exclude locked layers without a separate warning.
Removing an expression does not restore an unrelated expression Springy previously replaced. Use After Effects’ undo history to recover that earlier application.
Bake the work area to keys
- Set the composition work area to include all the motion you need.
- Select the Springy properties. Choose the behavior already in use so Bake appears.
- Check Bake Every in Springy’s settings. The default samples every frame.
- Click Bake, then preview the result.
Springy samples the live result across the work area, replaces keys in that range, and removes the expression from the whole property. It also removes control groups that no remaining Springy expression uses. Keys outside the work area stay, but their expression-driven motion is no longer present. The sample range includes the work-area endpoint when it falls on the sampling grid.
A larger Bake Every value creates fewer keys and can lose fast movement between samples. Review the baked animation before continuing. Use Edit > Undo to bring back the expression and controls.
No Springy behavior to bake means none of the selected properties has a Springy expression. Locked layers are skipped, and a successful bake count can omit them without a separate warning.
