Visit text layers with missing fonts
Click Scan, then open Fonts. Each row groups the layers using one missing font. Click a row to open the comp and select the first stored layer for that font.
The target action beside Fonts visits the next affected layer. Repeated clicks cycle through the layer references stored in the report. Its badge shows your position in that cycle.
Install or activate the required font yourself, or choose a replacement on the affected text layer in After Effects. Tidy does not install fonts or replace text formatting.
The stored list has limits, and detection depends on the font information After Effects exposes. See Findings for those limits. Scan again after editing fonts or changing layers so the report and its layer references are current.
Select comps that need better names
Open Naming to review comps whose names match Tidy’s default-name patterns. Click a row to select that comp in the Project panel.
Click the pencil beside Naming to select the reported comps together. Rename them manually in After Effects, or use Renamer on that selection.
The pencil does not add Renamer or rename anything automatically. Open Renamer in your dock to use the selection, or add it when you need batch naming.
Close the list, then click the ring after renaming to update Naming. If a layer or comp has disappeared since the scan, refresh before trying again. The action inventory is in Controls reference, and failure messages are covered in Troubleshooting.
