Review before removing

Click Scan, then open Unused. Click any row to select its item in the Project panel. Review the whole list before using the wand. Selecting a row does not limit what the wand removes.

By default, Tidy removes unused footage and solids. Unused comps remain listed as Comp · kept, and do not add to the removable count.

Put assets you still need inside the configured Protected folder, _keep by default, then scan again. This matters for footage reached only through expressions. Tidy uses composition source references to judge usage, so it cannot protect every expression dependency for you.

Decide whether to remove comps

Leave Remove unused comps off to retain comps that nothing uses. To include them, turn it on in the list or in Settings. Close the list with its back arrow, click the ring to rescan, then reopen Unused.

When the Unused wand is active, Alt-click it to include eligible unused comps for one cleanup without changing the saved setting. If the only unused items are kept comps, the wand is disabled. Use the toggle and rescan instead. Comps in the Render Queue stay protected from unused removal.

Run the cleanup

Click the wand beside Unused. Tidy removes eligible project items and refreshes its report. It does not delete their source files from disk.

Removing a comp can leave its former sources unused. Review the refreshed list and run Unused again if needed. Each pass finds what is unused at that point.

To clear folders left behind, open Empty folders, review its list, and click its wand separately. Protected folders remain intact. Exact exclusions are in Findings, and recovery advice is in Troubleshooting.
